Draycott Sleights (SWT reserve)
This reserve is owned by Somerset Wildlife Trust and over 20 species of butterfly are recorded annually
Overview
This species-rich, limestone grassland is particularly suitable for blue butterflies and has been owned by Somerset Wildlife Trust since 1986. Despite some minor quarrying and agriculture here in the early to mid 20th century, it has remained relatively untouched, acting as sheep pasture for centuries. Typical limestone plants like Thyme and Marjoram are found here.
