Walton Common is an Avon Wildlife Trust (AWT) reserve located between Portishead and Clevedon.
It is a calcareous grassland reserve surrounded by woodland renowned for wildflowers and butterflies.
There are views of the Gordano Valley and, above the quarry, across the Severn Estuary.
You may come across the small herd of Dexter cattle who graze the reserve. Dogs must be kept on a lead.
Butterflies: 24 species were recorded in 2023.
These included Dark Green Fritillary, Common Blue, Brown Argus, Marbled White, Small Skipper, Large Skipper, Ringlet, Small & Large White, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Small Copper & Painted Lady.

From Clevedon, head towards Portishead on the B3124. As you come into Walton-in-Gordano, turn left onto Walton Street (small triangle junction).
